In the NetSpeed Leadership module, Building the Total Team, we explore the seven characteristics of a high-performing team (what we call a Total Team). The first characteristic is Shared Purpose and Direction. When a team shares a sense of commitment to the team's purpose, magic happens. They put aside differences of opinion to serve the higher purpose.
We state our company's purpose this way: We help clients develop their individual and leadership talent. We do this by providing cutting-edge learning tools and the expertise to implement them.
I'm thinking at this moment about the team here at NetSpeed Leadership. We're an amazing group of dedicated people. Tim, VP and General Manager, operates like the engine that drives our ship. He's task-directed and focuses on consistent execution. Dan, one of our Consultants, is a creative, visionary contributor who is lending his many talents to the creation of podspots and podcasts for NetSpeed Fast Tracks. Leo, Director of Technical Services, has developed an entire content management system for NetSpeed Fast Tracks and is the chief architect behind our web-based reinforcement tools. Alex, Client Services Manager, is not only incredibly organized but he has streamlined all of our systems around here to make things run more efficiently. Recently we had a temporary employee in the office for a week and she commented on her last day, "What a powerhouse team this is. I'm so impressed."
